This 8 hour course will get you and your equipment set up properly. Students will learn how to range and engage targets using the fundamentals of marksmanship. This course is open to well qualified civilians and those starting in the marksman/counter-sniper realm of police and military work. It is an excellent course for the hunter who wants to increase his odds of bagging that monster that he just can’t seem to get close to.
Course includes:
- Equipment selection and requirements
- Basic ballistics
- Proper target ranging techniques
- Cold bore deviation
- Establishing a zero
- Drop data confirmation
- Basic wind theory
- Optics and reticle technology
- Proper cleaning techniques
- Students will engage targets from close range to 600 meters (range dependent)
This course is open to law enforcement and military as well as those individuals who want to improve their rifle skills for the outdoors. We have hunter only courses and police/military only courses. This course is outstanding for getting your equipment fine tuned for precision shot placement, and you’ll receive a data card for your rifle and ammunition load to put you right on target out to maximum range distance.
Equipment:
Rifle with optics capable of adjustment for distances and at least 50 rounds of match grade ammunition. Eye and hearing protection and clothing for whatever weather we may encounter. Optional equipment includes your log book, ranging device, and a calculator.
